My work springs from the need to create and connect universal themes being expressed in life. While, my current focus is conceptual photography, my journey is about how to use conceptual photography to weave the themes reflected in man’s interactions with nature, himself and each other. Conceptual photography lends itself to creating stories that otherwise would not exist in a single element. Sometimes the concept is about layering textures onto a single image to create a sense of “time”. Sometimes the concept is about the relationship between worlds: reality and fantasy. Sometimes the concept is a blank canvas…waiting for the story to come along and beckon me. So, I play with light, darkness and the balance between the two. That which evolves from the interplay is always emerging and reconstituted.
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
